How does washing affect the adsorption efficiency of activated carbon filters?
Washing removes physical dust, fibers, and grease accumulated on the filter's surface that block airflow. However, adsorption of gaseous molecules (VOCs) occurs via chemical bonds within the micro-pores. Standard washing cannot fully release these micro-porous chemical bonds. Washing primarily restores airflow dynamics and removes particulate contaminants, maintaining up to 85% of chemical efficiency while preventing the need for frequent replacement.
What is the typical lifecycle and washing frequency for industrial applications?
Under normal HVAC operating environments, we recommend washing every 3 to 6 months.
